Category: Classes

Ok, everyone, listen up. Exotic Pets require a 51 point BM build, not only to train them, but to call them to your side as well.
What does this mean if you changed specs? It means you can no longer use this pet, until you change back into BM.

I am absolutely amazed how much I see this question come up.
Exotic pets are for Beast Master Hunters only. I know it made me sad when I changed from BM to MM, as I can no longer use my Spirit Beast pet. I am debating switching back to BM for every except raids, just so I can call her again.

When it comes to healing assignments there can often be a confusion as to what class/spec is best for what job, especially if the person doing the assigning isn’t familiar with healing classes. In order to make the raid leader’s job a bit easier here’s a short and sweet general guide to who does what best.

Holy Paladin - Tank Healing: Holy paladins are best at single target healing, able to throw out quick, powerful, and mana efficient heals. If you put a Holy Paladin on raid heals, their head just might explode at the notion and then you’d be down a healer.

Restoration ShamanRaid Healing:  The bread and butter of the Resto Shamans healing repertoire is [Chain Heal], which makes them ideal for raid healing. However, if you have a well-geared and skilled player, it is possible that they can tank heal. In general though, you’ll want to have your shamans on raid heals. Also, make sure they are coordinating what totems they drop, because the effects don’t stack. For example, have one drop [Healing Stream Totem] and another drop a [Mana Spring Totem]/[Mana Tide Totem].

Discipline PriestTank Healing:  Disc priests are mitigation healers, making liberal use of [Power Word: Shield] and spells that provide damage reduction to prevent damage from occurring in the first place. However, in certain encounters it can be beneficial to have a disc priest on raid heals. For example in ICC on Deathbringer Saurfang, raid shielding can keep him from gaining blood power when he deals damage to the raid.

Holy PriestTank or Raid Healing:  Holy Priests are well suited to either assignment. They can put out powerful heals on single targets or use [Circle of Healing], [Prayer of Healing], etc. to heal all party/raid members within a certain radius.

Restoration DruidTank or Raid Healing:  Because druids make use of both HoTs and direct cast heals, they do well in either assignment. Think of them as filler. If you need a tank healer and are heavy on raid heals or vice-versa, the druid can fill in. If it doesn’t matter, then ask the druid which they prefer to do.

Just keep in mind that your mileage may vary.  My general guide here may not always be best based on player preference and raid composition.  Regardless, you should always consult with your healers to make sure everyone is happy with their job.  A happy healing team is a successful healing  team.

We have officially started recruiting! I will be posting in the Guild Section on the Official Forums soon. I have already post on Guild Launch’s Recruiting Forum, as well as setup the Application on our Website. We will begin advertising in-game in the next few days or so as well.

<Memento Vivere> is a new Casual Raiding Guild looking for members to begin End Game Content. Have 4 bank tabs, tabard, repairs for Raiders, vent & Website. Need all classes. PST for more info. http://memviv.guildlaunch.com

We want to start doing Raids and seeing everything there is to see. I am also starting to setup Old World Raids, starting with UBRS this weekend.

I’m a little excited, and I hope we are able to get enough players to join the guild that we can start moving forward.

Edit: I have added our Guild to the Offical Forums here – http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22049931215

Another Holiday is upon us, and I have been running around like a chicken (turkey) with its head cut off trying to get all of the achievements completed.

["FOOD FIGHT!"]
This one it pretty easy, even though it might take several tries to complete. When you pass the food at the table, sometimes it lands on the plate, and sometimes it bounces off the person’s head.

[Pilgrim's Paunch]
This one is also pretty easy to get, as long as you can get a chair to sit in. You just need to eat 5 of each of the foods to get the [The Spirit of Sharing] buff, at each of the Major Alliance/Horde (your faction, not both) Cities.

[Pilgrim's Progress]
Just need to complete all 5 of the daily quests. This requires you to travel to the major cities and get your supplies. The main ingredients are not sold by all the vendors, and Wild Turkey you have to hunt.

[Terokkar Turkey Time]
For a level 80 this is a breeze. Just run in, kill everything, and the last boss, then run back out. This can be done on reg or heroic, so if you have a druid with you, it would be a good time to try and get the [Reins of the Raven Lord]. If you are not level 80, then just make sure you have a good group with you. Minimum level to enter is 55, recommended level is 64+, mob level is 67-69.

[Turkey Lurkey]
8 rouges… seems easy enough, except that they can be hard to find. At least there isn’t a level requirement, as there has been in past holidays.

[Now We're Cookin']
You can get this while completing the Daily Quests, since you have to cook all 5 recipes to complete the quests anyway.

[Pilgrim's Peril]
This one is tough. You have to sit at the table in each of the opposing factions cities. Orgrimmar & Silvermoon are pretty easy, as they do not flag you for PvP. Thunderbluff and Undercity are a whole other story. At Undercity, the Horde were camping the tables, in mass. they were also camping the graveyard and ganking everyone as they rezzed.

The tables at Razor hill can be used as well for Org, since the chairs at Org seem to be missing O.o

[Sharing is Caring]
Get this while you are working on [Pilgrim's Paunch]. You have to sit at every chair at the table, and pass the food for that chair.

[The Turkinator]
I keep hearing that there are TONS of Wild Turkey and they respawn really fast. I have yet to see this as correct. The Wild Turkey are spread far and wide, and do not seem to respawn fast enough to get this. Plus with everyone and their brother hunting these for this achievement and for mats for cooking, it makes it hard to get enough in time.

You have to kill 40 Wild Turkey, with no more than 30 seconds between kills. If you go more than 30 secs, you have to start all over again. I have gotten up to 25 before I ran out of Wild Turkey and had to start over >.<

I have to admit though, the [Plump Turkey] pet is fun to watch. When it gets near a fire, it will emote “Plump Turkey senses his destiny!” and then it will jump in the fire and get roasted. .

I look forward to completing this holiday. I just have to get the last of the Rouges and my 40 Turkeys…

Since I am seeing a lot of traffic through my blog based on searches for Gondria, I thought I would make a post about this beast, and see if I can help anyone else with the capture and/or hunting of her.

First, let me start with a link to HuntsmansLodge.com. Garwulf has posted a pretty good map and information in regards to Gondria and her spawn points. He has more information here.

As with any Rare, it is usually easiest to find them either right after a server reboot, or in the early hours of the morning (between 2am & 4am Server Time). I also use the _NPCScan Addon. This helped me greatly with finding Gondria!

What you have to remember is this: when you find her, watch out for her aggro. She will pounce on you from a distance and can do some pretty decent damage. The best tip I have found on this (and the one I used) is to set a [Freezing Trap], and stand in the middle of it, before you start the tame. Otherwise, she might jump right over it when she pounces you. Unfortunately, tamed pets cannot learn [Pounce], and therefore Gondria will lose this skill once tamed.

Also, since Gondria is an exotic beast you must have a 51+ BM spec to tame her. This is my (current) BM Build. And my pet’s current build. Between these two builds and my gear I get between 1.7k & 2.5k DPS, depending on the fight. I love this pet and I will probably keep my BM spec, in spite of the recent nerfs, just so I can continue to use her.

If you have any questions in regards to this beast or any of the rares, please feel free to let me know.

*EDIT: Since Gondria is a Spirit Beast, she is considered an Exotic Pet, and therefore not tamable in non BM Specs. If you have her tamed, and you switch out of BM spec, you will have to either stable or abandon her.
