Barkerboi - The Warlock

Ahhh Love is in the air once again. This holiday started up yesterday, and I was able to get the two achievements ([I Pitied The Fool] & [My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose]) I needed to complete the meta. I also picked up most of the optional achievements ([Perma-Peddle] & [Tough Love]) leaving me only one left to get ([Lovely Luck Is On Your Side]). Since I do not need to use my [Love Token]’s for any of the other buy able items, I will be spending them trying to get the [Lovely Black Dress] instead.

I am also hoping to get the [Toxic Wasteling] & the [Big Love Rocket]. Good luck to everyone.

Ok, everyone, listen up. Exotic Pets require a 51 point BM build, not only to train them, but to call them to your side as well.
What does this mean if you changed specs? It means you can no longer use this pet, until you change back into BM.

I am absolutely amazed how much I see this question come up.
Exotic pets are for Beast Master Hunters only. I know it made me sad when I changed from BM to MM, as I can no longer use my Spirit Beast pet. I am debating switching back to BM for every except raids, just so I can call her again.

After months and months (and more months) of my Death Knight being ignored, I have finally gotten him to ding 80! Now I need to get him geared up and running heroics and ready for raiding. I will probably dual spec him as Tank/DPS. I still looking at specs and building my gear wishlist, I will try to post an update to this soon.

On another note, I am working on getting several of my low level ALTs to 60 as fast as I can with the Refer/Recruit a Friend (RaF) bonuses. I love this program, not only does it allow me to level & gain Rep faster, but I also get a cool mount ([Swift Zhevra]) and a free month of game play.

The Characters affected by RaF are (currently):
Desii (My bank ALT, I know)
Bachri
Adorus
Barkerboi (Stopped at level 20)
Bereska

Who knows, I might add more soon… :D

When it comes to healing assignments there can often be a confusion as to what class/spec is best for what job, especially if the person doing the assigning isn’t familiar with healing classes. In order to make the raid leader’s job a bit easier here’s a short and sweet general guide to who does what best.

Holy Paladin - Tank Healing: Holy paladins are best at single target healing, able to throw out quick, powerful, and mana efficient heals. If you put a Holy Paladin on raid heals, their head just might explode at the notion and then you’d be down a healer.

Restoration ShamanRaid Healing:  The bread and butter of the Resto Shamans healing repertoire is [Chain Heal], which makes them ideal for raid healing. However, if you have a well-geared and skilled player, it is possible that they can tank heal. In general though, you’ll want to have your shamans on raid heals. Also, make sure they are coordinating what totems they drop, because the effects don’t stack. For example, have one drop [Healing Stream Totem] and another drop a [Mana Spring Totem]/[Mana Tide Totem].

Discipline PriestTank Healing:  Disc priests are mitigation healers, making liberal use of [Power Word: Shield] and spells that provide damage reduction to prevent damage from occurring in the first place. However, in certain encounters it can be beneficial to have a disc priest on raid heals. For example in ICC on Deathbringer Saurfang, raid shielding can keep him from gaining blood power when he deals damage to the raid.

Holy PriestTank or Raid Healing:  Holy Priests are well suited to either assignment. They can put out powerful heals on single targets or use [Circle of Healing], [Prayer of Healing], etc. to heal all party/raid members within a certain radius.

Restoration DruidTank or Raid Healing:  Because druids make use of both HoTs and direct cast heals, they do well in either assignment. Think of them as filler. If you need a tank healer and are heavy on raid heals or vice-versa, the druid can fill in. If it doesn’t matter, then ask the druid which they prefer to do.

Just keep in mind that your mileage may vary.  My general guide here may not always be best based on player preference and raid composition.  Regardless, you should always consult with your healers to make sure everyone is happy with their job.  A happy healing team is a successful healing  team.

This time I am doing a lot more planning and preparing for our event.

New Years – Amicitia per Fiducia Day of Fun
When: New years Day (Jan 1, 2010)
Where: Gather at Ironforge
What: Day of Fun

Create a new Character, get them to level 10, sell everything he/she owns, then get him/her to Ironforge. You should show up in Ironforge with nothing, except the money you got from selling everything (this will be your “entrance fee” and it will go back into the Guild Banks to help replenish the money and stocks used for this event), not even the clothes on your back You must be level 10, any race and class, and you cannot have any gear or skills (other than those you automatically have), so no training while you level.

You will be given clothes to wear. Once everyone is gathered up, we will take a parade to Menethil Harbor.

Our plan is to have a bunch of fun and spend time getting to know everyone. All 3 guilds from Amicitia per Fiducia are invited! Hopefully everyone will make some new friends.
